There is a mountain of evidence that supports a 6000 year old Earth! Over 100 scientific measurements alone prove the Earth to be young just like the Word of God states. One of which is the rotation of the Earth.

There has been a steady deceleration of the Earth on its axis. Like a flywheel without a motor, the Earth is slowing down. It is slowing down by approximately one second every year to year and a half. About once a year, a leap second is introduced into the (UTC) Coordinated Universal Time, the world’s atomic time scale for civil time, in order to keep it in phase with the rotation of the Earth. There are fluctuations in the deceleration believed to be the result of the recession of the moon from the Earth. That is another topic for another time though.

In just the past 2000 years, the Earth has slowed by over 30 minutes! Although the increase in the length of day seems miniscule, it does present a major problem to the old-earth proponents.  If you go back by thousands of years like the Bible states, then the days would be a little faster, yet still inhabitable.

However, if you speak of the Earth being millions and billions of years old; that is NOT possible! The Earth would be spinning too fast! The centrifugal force would have produced a correolus effect upon the winds that would have produced winds in access of thousands of miles per hour. That condition obviously did not exist which leads us to ONLY one conclusion! The age of the Earth CANNOT be measured in millions and billions of years! The Earth must be much, much younger.

This data is quite consistent with the biblical view of the age of the Earth, about 6000 years of age. Taking the evidence were it leads us, there is a great case for a young earth. The new data supports the creationist model: That God created the Earth and all that is in it about 6,000 years ago.
