Water Canopy Theory Explained
The Earth had quite a different climate before and after the great flood in the days of Noah. The Book of Genesis provides the description of the beginning of creation and the basis for the water canopy theory. There is actually much information given to the environment of the time before and after the flood. And science and nature confirm the environment spoken of in the Word of God. Your faith in the Holy Scriptures as the inerrant, infallible, and inspired Word of the Living God will be substantiated! Genesis 1:6, "And God said, let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And God called the expanse ‘sky.'"  According to God's Word, he created the earth with water upon it, and a layer he called the expanse which is the atmosphere we breathe today. With heaven hovering over it; and above the expanse, another layer of water, this layer of water could have been in any of the three physical states that water exists in. The state that this water canopy probably existed was a layer of ice. When scientists put together a theoretical model designed in the way just described, they come up with some astounding scenarios for this water canopy theory. Here is some of the findings:

1. If a water canopy encompassed the whole earth, it would create a virtual greenhouse, regulating a perfect temperature around the globe in which there would be no storm of any kind. The sky would have been picturesque and clear everyday. It would have created a perfect tropical climate, worldwide! A place God called Paradise!

Prior to Noah's flood about 4400 years ago according to the Holy Scriptures, this water canopy would have rested above the sky. Ancient people called it a "celestial ocean." Before the flood of Noah we have no record of clouds or rain, as recorded in Genesis 2:5-6,

"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."

This cloudless sky that would have existed under this water canopy would then have not allowed a rainbow to have formed PRIOR to the biblical flood.

Genesis 9:12-15,

"And God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant. I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life."  

The ancient civilizations of Babylon, Egypt, Greece, India, Hawaii, Indonesia, Europe, Asia, and Australia all testify of a water canopy above the firmament. In the 1850s, British archaeologists found about 20,000 clay tablets in the ruins of a library excavated in Nineveh which also support a celestial ocean in the sky. It's important to remember that these people were not adherents to the Bible. This explains the unfamiliarity of the rainbow in the sky during Noah's time and also, provides its significance. Today, we take it for granted. 

2. If the water canopy encompassed the entire earth, then a temperate climate would have existed throughout the entire globe whether we are talking the area around poles or the equator. It would have been a tropical environment everywhere!

On May 31, 2006, the headline of Purdue University News reads, "North Pole's Ancient Past Holds Clues about Future Global Warming."
  
The findings of a once tropical climate at the North Pole are, of course, true according to the physical evidence discovered. However, the assumption of millions of years taking place are built upon the faulty belief of uniformitarianism, and are not science at all, but simply incorrect hypotheses.

Purdue University News reports:

The models fail to explain another puzzling fact. The temperature difference between the North Pole and the equator today is about 45 degrees Celsius. But the difference appears to have been much smaller during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum time frame. Otherwise, it would have been too hot for vegetation to survive in equatorial latitudes.

‘We still haven't explained why the tropics stayed cool," Huber said. "Somehow, we have to explain how you can warm the poles up to 23 degrees Celsius without having the tropics rise to at least 50 degrees, which is 10 degrees too hot for plants to carry out photosynthesis."

He said the implications are troubling because current models may be providing optimistic predictions.

"Today's models under-predict how warm the poles were back then, which tells you something disturbing - that the models, if anything, aren't sensitive enough to greenhouse gases," Huber said. "At the same time, it is possible that other forces in addition to higher-than-normal greenhouse gas concentrations were involved, otherwise we can't explain how the tropics maintained livable conditions. The hard physical evidence points to a global temperate climate encompassing the whole Earth at the same time. They cannot explain it. No models or theories based on evolutionary theory can explain it. They do not accept the Biblical worldview of a young Earth and the water canopy theory that the Holy Bible speaks of in Genesis 1:6, because in their "science" following the evidence wherever it leads is trumped by the primary objective of supporting the squatting rights of the evolutionary paradigm in the upper circles of society.

The camp of evolution has a lot at stake. Billions of dollars have been invested in the Godless religion; careers and livelihoods, prestige and acceptance in the academic community are on the table. Their freedom to live life without eternal consequence is of paramount importance and anything that contradicts their theory of evolution which NEEDS millions and billions of years to be facilitated will be rejected or simply ignored!

3. Another thing that is of consequence, is that it rained upon the whole earth for 40 days and 40 nights at God's request. That would be a lot of water in the sky, or better yet above the sky! This gives even more credence to enormous amounts of water in the water canopy that must have fallen in a great catastrophe. To flood the entire Earth, we must also understand that the fountains of the deep added to the water on the surface of the earth all at once and in a sudden moment. The scars and physical evidence of the subterranean water bursting forth through the crust is along the fault lines today including the massive scar running from pole to pole on the Atlantic Ocean floor today.

In Genesis 7, God opened the windows of heaven and poured the protective water canopy down upon the earth. This destroyed every creature that had the breath of life in its nostrils; with the exception of the residents of Noah's Ark. Things would never be the same again.

The destruction of this water canopy has produced devastating results. There are billions of buried fossils from living creatures that were destroyed by water action. Over 95% of all fossils found are actually marine fossils. That makes sense if the world was deluged by water. About 4% are plants and vegetation. The remaining 1% of fossils found which include dinosaur bones are found in sandstone, limestone, or other water action rock layers or even permafrost (ice). These are all sedimentary rock formations. That means they were buried by water action. Again, this supports the biblical account. This is simply not discussed when evolutionists and non-believers speak about fossils and dinosaur bones.

There are also countless fish fossils and clams found in the closed position on the world's mountain peaks. The ONLY way that clams can be fossilized in the closed position is in a FLOOD! Then, the next question is; how can marine fossils be on top of mountain peaks? All the mountains all over the world including Mt. Everest must have been under water during a flood at the same time. No one outside the biblical doctrine can explain this phenomenon.

Interesting enough, the Word of God has the explanation. In Psalm 104, it speaks about the last part of the flood where the mountains arose, the valleys sank down, and the waters rushed off.

4. Another result of a water canopy above the expanse or sky would be the action of the canopy as a filter, blocking deadly UV rays from the sun which arguably participate in every disease known to man. It would have only taken a layer of ice about 18 inches thick to completely block the harmful rays of the sun such as ultraviolet rays, X-rays, microwaves, etc.. This result of this filter of the sun rays is that life spans of the inhabitants under this canopy would be much longer.

Students of the scriptures know that the average life span before the flood, in the days of Noah, was 911 years. Today, this would seem fantastic and unbelievable were it not for the Holy Scriptures. Once you understand the water canopy theory that is spawned from the scriptures themselves, you find that the science and nature actually provide the proof.

With the water canopy destroyed and then replaced by a one-and-one-half inch thick (approximately) ozone layer, the UV rays bombard the earth continually, contributing in a major way to man's abbreviated 70-year life span.

Immediately after the flood, man's age span drops sharply from an average 911 years to 120 years in Genesis 6:3, and still further down to 70 similar to what the more medically advanced nations know today. The Holy Scriptures stated in Psalms 90:10 (score equates to 20 years),

"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."

Something dramatic happened that shortened man's life span so profoundly and it happened during the worldwide flood of Noah. In the beginning of creation, God placed a blanket of water above our sky and in the days of Noah he rained it down upon the earth. Surrounding the globe, it would have shielded the world from over 60 major life shortening diseases as well as create a mild tropical paradise, offer perfect air, perfect food, etc., plus protect creation from harmful mutations caused by the sun's radiation. Keep in mind that nearly all mutations are a product of ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Let's speak briefly about other animals in creation like dinosaurs. We know dinosaurs were reptiles and that reptiles NEVER stop growing. The only thing that limits the size of reptiles is the age limitations. Remember the harmful sun rays that bombard ALL inhabitants of the earth now affect reptiles as well. With pre-flood conditions under a water canopy, these reptiles would live to be much, much older and grow to be much, much LARGER!

5. Another result of a water canopy above the expanse or sky would be the compression of air in the atmosphere or expanse. A layer of ice above the atmosphere would encase the air resulting in compression due to the fact that air molecules like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other elements could NOT escape into outer space. There was a hard ceiling called the water canopy.

With the hard ceiling, much more oxygen and carbon dioxide would be present in the air. This fact is not disputed, yet in is not explained either. Remember Huber stated in the Purdue University News, "At the same time, it is possible that other forces in addition to higher-than-normal greenhouse gas concentrations were involved."

How is it that the atmosphere has less oxygen and carbon dioxide today than it had in the past? How was it possible for there to be higher concentrations than today? The Biblical view of a water canopy has the only explanation for this phenomenon.

One of the reasons that they do not refute this fact is the hard physical evidence that has been found.

The recent extraction by scientists, of ancient DNA from organisms entombed in amber much like in the science-fiction novel and movie, Jurassic Park is an example of why scientists are intensely interested in amber. Minute bubbles of ancient air trapped by successive flows of tree resin during the life of the tree are preserved in the amber. Analyses of the gases in these bubbles show that the earth s atmosphere, 67 million years ago, contained nearly 35 percent oxygen compared to present levels of 21 percent. Results are based upon more than 300 analyses by USGS scientists of Cretaceous, Tertiary, and recent-age amber from 16 world sites. The oldest amber in this study is about 130 million years old.

The consequences of an elevated oxygen level during Cretaceous time are speculative. Did the higher oxygen support the now extinct dinosaurs? Their demise was gradual in the transition from late Cretaceous to early Tertiary times, as was the decrease in oxygen content of the atmosphere.

There was a major decrease in oxygen content in the atmosphere from 35 percent to the present day level of 21 percent. This decrease occurred about the same time that the dinosaurs disappeared--65 million years ago. [End of Quote]

They have the physical evidence but the conclusion is all wrong! They are basing their conclusion of the time period on the evolutionary paradigm of millions of years. They still have no valid reason for the change in the makeup of the atmosphere of the distant past.

Did you also notice the statement that the decrease in the oxygen content coincided with the disappearance of the dinosaurs? The atmosphere changed at the SAME TIME! The Water Canopy Theory based on the Word of God explains this phenomenon whereby the biblical flood during Noah's time coincides with the destruction of the water canopy. The dinosaurs drowned in the flood and the atmosphere would drastically change due to the absence of the water canopy.

6. Another result of a water canopy above the expanse or sky would be the hard ceiling which would cause the air pressure to be substantially greater. Scientists now believe that the air pressure during the time of the dinosaurs would have had to be about TWICE the levels of today. Why is this important?

For starters, the sheer size and weight of some of the flying reptiles namely Pteranodon and Pterodactyl, would not have been able to provide enough lift to produce flight. Scientists know that they could not have flown in the present-day atmosphere. In an atmosphere twice as dense as today's they would have found it very easy to attain flight.

Another reason is that reptiles of enormous size namely dinosaurs could not breathe in today's atmosphere. The animal's lungs would not be efficient enough to get oxygen to the muscles in their body. For the real heavyweights of the dinosaur world, the Sauropods and Titanosaurus, their immense size led to their own anatomical problems. The long necks on the likes of Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus were too long to reach their lungs. They could not breathe!

To rescue their "theory" of evolution, evolution proponents are now clinging to another flawed hypothesis that they somehow "evolved" bird-like efficient breathing systems. They cannot substantiate this guess with any real evidence, but it must be the case in their eyes because they are strapped to the mindset that the earth is billions of years old, because it has to be old for the evolutionary model to have ground to stand on.

On Wednesday, October 27, 1993, in Boston, MA, U.S.A, the Geological Society of America held a symposium. The governmental group stated that with the new evidence dinosaurs were not killed off by an asteroid, but an inability to breathe due to the drastic change in oxygen levels. Their hypothesis was that it was due to a great increase in volcanic activity. The evidence is right; their hypothesis as to why it happened is again flawed based on their need to keep their evolutionary model afloat.

The only way that both flight and breathing could have existed in the time of the dinosaurs or "terrible lizards" is by way of a drastic difference in the atmospheric makeup. Heavier amounts of breathing elements like oxygen and carbon dioxide along with much higher air pressure is the only conclusion. Coincidently, plant life all over the globe in the distant past also happened to be of great size, nothing like today's vegetation. Today's world is a miniature picture of the grandeur of the time before the Biblical flood and the destruction of the water canopy.

A further example of evidence that supports the Biblical worldview of the increase in the elements in the atmosphere and the increase in air pressure resulting from the water canopy is the fossilized remains of insects during the distant past. Insects all over the world have been found to have been much, much larger!  Grasshoppers TWO FEET long! Cockroaches over 18 inches long! Spiders with 3 feet long legs! The reason insects are of a much smaller scale today is that fact that they are limited to their ability to breathe and get oxygen to their extremities. Insects breathe thru spiracles in their skin; no nostrils. They are limited by the surface-to-area ratio. With more oxygen in the atmosphere and double the pressure the insects can get more oxygen in their body thus larger body capacity.

Another by-product of the pressurized atmosphere is the ability of enormous sized animals like dinosaurs, giant elephants and Rhinoceros', and man as well is the astronomical metabolic rate that would have existed in all animals living in those conditions. Without heightened metabolism rates, large animals like dinosaurs would not have been able eat enough to survive. Under today's environment, they would NOT be able to consume enough food daily to sustain existence. With higher metabolic rates, very small amounts of food would have been necessary.

The physical evidence supports the Biblical world-view of creation. Look at ALL the evidence and information concerning the past not just on a case-by-case basis ignoring other factors. The Word of God explains everything if you study the scriptures and trust in the Word. Science confirms the Holy Scriptures if you follow the evidence wherever it leads and do not put up a wall that limits exposure to the scriptures!     

Genesis 1:6 stated,

"And God said, let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And God called the expanse ‘sky.'"

A Water Canopy Theory explains ALL these conditions that once existed prior to the worldwide flood. Trust in the Word of God.

There is so much hard evidence that support the biblical world view. Yet, the evolutionists are willingly ignorant non-believers who refuse to accept the truth. Remember, these people are the people who date the age of the strata in which a fossil is found by the age of the index fossil found in it; and then in turn, date the fossil by the age of the strata in which it's found. They call this, "circular reasoning"! This is irrational train of thought, yet they cannot come to the truth because it goes against their religion that is evolution.

Remember Sir Arthur Keith, a renowned supporter of evolution who wrote the Forward to the 100^th anniversary edition of Darwin's book, Origin of Species in 1959. His words echo in the cavern that is man's arrogance,

"Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it ONLY because the only alternative is special creation, and that is unthinkable."

Don't be bamboozled by the proponents of evolution. Their words of "wisdom" are just rhetoric cloaking their faith in a house of cards that uses evolution to support it. They will try to state that the water canopy could not have existed, yet they do not have any explanation for any of the events that took place. They simply cannot accept the biblical account no matter the evidence.

You must trust the Holy Scriptures, and test everything against what the Lord says thru His Word. If it does not agree with the Word of God, then the theory must change; not the other way around!

The Scriptures are CLEAR!  

The earth was created just over 6,000 years ago.

The earth was deluged by a worldwide flood about 4400 years ago.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived, died, and rose from the dead to pay for our transgressions about 2000 years ago.

And, stacks of empirical evidence support the Word of God. 

In the Word of God, Romans 1:20-22,

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools."
