Prophecy . . . "He protects all his bones, not
one of them will be broken." (Psalm 34:20) Now this is a strange and rather meticulous
statement made that which would amazingly be fulfilled thru Christ. God would not allow his bones to be broken.
It is unique statement to be made in light of the common practice used with that type of execution of which had not even been
thought of yet in King David's time.
Fulfillment . . . "The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs." (John 19:32-33) This act of breaking the legs was used to hasten death, for the victim could no longer support his weight in order to breathe. Jesus walked out of the tomb and with the believers after death. What the Lord says is going to happen is going to happen! |
