To get to know the Holy Scriptures is vitally important to your salvation because Jesus Christ is the Word of God. If you do not know the Word of God, then you do not know Him.

Matthew 7:21-23,
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you, away from me, you evildoers!’”
There are people that profess their belief in Christ and the Word with great joy, yet they believe that their profession of faith is enough for “true” conversion. They fill the pews in our church buildings and some do not even go to church at all or only on holidays. Often today people are sold the bill of goods that by stating one’s belief in Christ their salvation is secure. Belief is all that is necessary. This is not true!

Matthew 15:3-4, 7-9,
“Jesus replied, ‘And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?’ For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’… ‘You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.”
John 10:26-27,
“…you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep

listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Belief is not enough! The profession of faith with mere words must be mirrored by one’s actions as well. To know his voice; or read the Word which is Christ. As it says;

John 1:1-2, 14,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
Use a substitution proof statement to better understand this.

“I know Him.”
• “I” is me.
• “know” is an intimate personal relationship with
• “Him” is Jesus Christ
• Jesus Christ is the Word
• The Word is the Holy Bible
Therefore, I have an intimate personal relationship with the Jesus Christ thru the Holy Bible. The Word of God is Him! To “know Him” is to know the Word.

A personal relationship with Him through a prayerful and repentant life is an act of love. This is what God seeks. Read Him, know Him, have fellowship with Him, and strive for moral obedience (follow Him) are not burdensome for someone you truly love.

This is why this section was developed and uses the same tried and true philosophy of learning. With each new E-Letter, we will learn two valuable verses from one book of the Bible changing to a different book each time. Over a fairly short period of time, you will know dozens if not hundreds of verses verbatim and become much more familiar with the entire Word of God. The intent here is to help you burn the Holy Scriptures into your long-term memory and help you strive to have a more intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

  So, Let's Begin!

Below you will find two verses from one particular book of the Holy Bible.

Using a pad or notebook and a pen, write down the verses from below into your notepad putting each verse on a different page.

After writing these into the notepad, now handwrite them again below the first. (By handwriting these verses verbatim, you are actively stimulating your brain to think about what you are writing. The first couple of times you will be looking at the 1st verse you wrote. By the third time, you will start to know a good part of the verse; the fourth time you will write most of it without even looking above. By the fifth time, you will have written it completely without any help. That's the beauty of this time-tested way of memorization! )

The following day, write them again once each day.

Now, this process will not take very much time at all, maybe 5 minutes. But, what you get out of it will be priceless!

Keep this notepad for the next "Teaching Moment". When you get to the next E-Letter, write all the previous verses into the pad one time before you start with the new verses. You will notice something pretty amazing! You will KNOW the past verses verbatim and you will only continue to burn them into your long-term memory bank forever.

The gift from God that is our brain, is truly an amazing thing!
