Prophecy . . . "My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth".
. . "and gave me vinegar for my thirst" (Psalm
22:15, 69:21) In prophetic psalm 22, King David speaks of
the Messiah being parched and without the ability to quench his own thirst, he receives vinegar?! Pretty vague though huh? Fulfillment . . . "Jesus said, 'I
am thirsty' a jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it . . .and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had
received the drink, Jesus said, 'It is finished'. . .and gave up his spirit." (John 19:28-29) Ultimately,
this last act was the final prophetic scripture in Psalm 22 that was fulfilled. Jesus
knew that all had been accomplished.
