Prophecy . . . "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathan, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from ancient times." (Micah 5:2-4) The Messiah will not only be from the tribe of Judah, but will be born in the small town of Bethlehem, the city of David. This was prophesied over 700 years BEFORE Christ. Fulfillment . . . "So Joseph also went up from the town of Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and the line of David . . .While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born," (Luke 2:4-7,Matthew 2:1-6, John 7:42) Not only is the lineage of Christ confirmed thru David to Joseph, but the exactness of the place where the Messiah would be born is amazingly played out thru circumstances beyond the control of any man. Only God could have known these minute details and have them play out perfectly to match the place of Jesus Christ's birth. |
