The oldest desert in the world is the Sahara Desert in Africa. Scientists from Potsdam
Institute for Climate Impact Research in 1999 concluded that the desertification process that produces deserts verifies
the age of the Sahara Desert to be no more than 4000 years of age. This scientific conclusion brings about an interesting dilemma for old earth proponents. If the age of the earth
is billions of years old, then why is the oldest desert in the world only 4000 years of age? The biblical world
view is that the earth was deluged by a worldwide flood about 4400 years ago. The climate of the earth was very different
before the Biblical flood. If the biblical view is correct and a flood did take place some 4400 years ago like ALL cultures
of the past testify to, then the oldest desert in the world MUST be less than 4400 years old! WOW! It is! Amazing isn't it? Science once again proves the veracity of the Holy Scriptures. If facts
consistently prove one thing to be true and disprove another, then maybe you should put your faith in that which is truth! |
